St. Louis Cemetery No. 2 Autumn
2023
Prior to the pandemic, St. Louis Cemetery No. 2 was one of my favorite places to stroll, relax and dream. While not the oldest cemetery its crypts were about the same age as those of one of our more famous, older cemeteries, St. Louis No. 1. Unfortunately No. 2 went the way of No. 1 and has been closed since the city shut down during the pandemic. The irony is a virus that made these cemeteries so populated by both the dead and living visitors is also what led to its closure so many decades later. But, you can still enjoy walking past these old necropolises to enjoy the view from outside its crumbling walls.
